Contract Seamstress / Sample Maker (Part–Full Time)

ADW is an independent fashion brand seeking an experienced seamstress/sample maker to support ongoing production and development on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who works independently, owns their own industrial machinery, and is looking for consistent, flexible work with a growing brand.
Role Description
This is a contract-based, part-time to full-time role for a Seamstress / Sample Maker based in Philadelphia, PA or nearby. The Seamstress will support ADW’s ongoing production and development by constructing, reworking, and altering garments and accessories to specification. This role focuses on small-batch production, one-off samples, and reconstructed pieces.
The Seamstress will work independently using their own sewing machinery, ensuring consistent quality, clean finishes, and strong attention to detail. Collaboration will involve working closely with the brand on fit, construction, and execution of design concepts. This role is project-based with flexible scheduling and the potential for ongoing work depending on availability and workload.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in sewing and constructing garments and accessories to spec
- Reworking, altering, and reconstructing existing pieces
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Executing small-batch production and one-off samples
- Maintaining consistent quality, clean finishes, and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain attention to detail
- Knowledge of various sewing techniques and experience working with a range of fabrics, including heavier-weight and reconstructed materials
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a brand
- Clear communication and reliability in meeting agreed timelines
Requirements
- Proven sewing experience (fashion, accessories, or production-based work)
- Ability to work independently and meet agreed timelines
- Own sewing machinery (industrial or professional-grade home machines)
- Strong understanding of garment construction and finishing
- Strong Customer Service and Communication skills
- Based in Philadelphia or nearby (local drop-off/pick-up preferred)
