Major Responsibilities
Production of scans, positions, and immobilization of patients.
Selects proper technical factors.
Ensures patient is well informed about procedure and other relevant positioning information.
Responsibility for diagnostic procedures requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology so that independent selection and modification of technical factors may produce optimum results.
Responsible for capturing appropriate exam charges, updates to procedure files, reimbursement codes, etc., with the HIS/RIS Computer System, as well as training and overseeing department personnel following HIS/RIS Procedures; checks daily log to see that day's exams are appropriately completed. Ensures that procedures sent to PACS are verified to enable radiologist interpretation of the procedure.
Provision of radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
Maintenance of adequate records, orderliness, and cleanliness of CT suite.
Required to perform quality control tests and document results; maintains a quality protocol to computerize and enhance images.
Completes assigned CQI projects and mandatory inservices as assigned.
Performs 3-D reconstruction, CT angiography and is proficient in use of
AWW work station.
Injection of appropriate contrast material into a vein to visualize anatomical structures under the supervision of a Radiologist and following department guidelines.
Maintain awareness of technological changes and advances in CT.
Education/Experience Required: Graduate of AMA approved school of radiology tech-
nology with certification by
ARRT
6 months minimum CT experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Able to mentor and educate radiology technologists in proper techniques for CT scanning
Computer applications technical background in computers
Technical knowledge in the
Area of computers and cross sectional anatomy
CT registered within 6 month from the date of hire.

CPR certified
This position may need to recognize needs and behaviors of specific age groups of patients treated, in this case, prior experience with all age groups is required
