Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) SDS PACU Lead

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced nurse to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight within our surgical services department. This role is responsible for coordinating daily operations, supporting staff, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced perioperative environment. The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader who can balance patient care responsibilities with team coordination and resource management.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Provide daily work direction to clinical and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient throughput.
Coordinate staffing, assignments, and resources to support surgical procedures and departmental operations.
Clinical Excellence
Deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Promote a safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered environment through active rounding and quality oversight.
Team Coordination & Communication
Facilitate effective communication among interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families.
Address service concerns and support resolution efforts to improve patient and staff experience.
Staff Support & Development
Serve as a clinical resource, providing guidance, training, and orientation to team members.
Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and collaborate with leadership on performance evaluations.
Assist with hiring processes, employee engagement, and conflict resolution as needed.
Staffing & Scheduling
Evaluate staffing levels and productivity needs; adjust assignments to meet patient and departmental demands.
Maintain staff schedules and ensure appropriate coverage.
Quality & Compliance
Monitor patient care quality and ensure adherence to organizational policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes.
Resource & Program Management
Support budget planning and ensure adequate supplies, equipment, and inventory.
Collaborate with vendors, participate in product evaluations, and coordinate equipment training.
Assist leadership in developing and enhancing programs and services.
Patient Care Competence
Provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan, demonstrating understanding of growth and development principles.
Assess and interpret patient data to deliver individualized care aligned with departmental standards.
Licensure & Certifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – required
Experience:
Prior perioperative experience strongly preferred
Leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
