Major Responsibilities:
- Facilitate physician discussions and drive to consensus issues relative to clinical content for inclusion in order set development, documentation, training content, and future workflow changes.
- Provide the clinical informatics insights that ensure clinical workflows are appropriately accounted for in design/implementation of new features/functionality and/or analytics/reporting while effectively communicating clinical concepts to technical HIT analysts.
- Help support the Office of the CMIO in prioritizing physician issues such as but not limited to order sets, documentation, results, rules, alerts and reports that will measure and enhance medical staff adoption of the EHR.
- Contribute communication content on EHR initiatives including changes and future benefits.
- Participate in the development and implementation of adoption measurements that include usage, workflow metrics and clinical outcomes.
- Participate in the development of readiness and post conversion assessments of programs and departments.
- Use their informatics knowledge to contribute to the strategic research mission of the system.
- Complete duties in accordance with a specified timeline and within project timelines. If unable to do so escalate to the CMIO as soon as possible.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Medicine and Surgery, MD-DO license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
Education Required:
- Doctorate Degree in Medical Informatics or related field.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 7 years of experience in informatics role.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Must possess excellent communication skills (speaking, listening and interpersonal skills).
- Must be respected by hospital and physician leadership.
- Must possess a passion for EMR design and adoption as well as quality and patient safety improvement.
- Be well-versed in patient safety and high reliability principles and be able to participate in root cause analysis.
- Expert knowledge on clinical processes and workflows.
- Well-organized with proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent ability to positively motivate non-subordinate department personnel to desired actions in meeting project goals and timeframes.
- Awareness of how, when and to what extent different hospital and clinic departments relate to and communicate with one another.
- Must be able to approach technical and user problems analytically.
- Detailed knowledge of the clinical process and system workflows of a hospital.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize actions required to quickly resolve problems.
- Have working understanding of medical staff regulatory requirements for the state of Wisconsin and Illinois.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to drive among AAH sites and meetings when needed.
