We’re Looking For: 

Licensure or Certifications 

  • MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.  
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices

Degrees: 

  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma. 
  • MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.  
  • LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing 

What You’ll Do: 

Schedule: Monday- Friday Hours Vary based on Clinic needs (6:30am-6:00pm)

As a Medical Assistant/LPN, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.   

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:  

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.  
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.  
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.  
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.  
  • Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.  
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.  
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

The internal medicine, pediatrics, and family practice clinics at 9200 W Loomis Rd (Aurora Health Center – Franklin) is a comprehensive, team-based primary care hub serving patients across all ages and life stages:

Multi-discipline primary care: Combines internal medicine (adult care), pediatrics (children), and family medicine (all ages) to meet diverse patient needs in one location.
Full-spectrum services: Provides preventive care, routine checkups, acute illness treatment, and chronic disease management for individuals and families.
Continuity of care: Supports lifelong care, allowing patients to stay within the same health system from childhood through adulthood.
Integrated access: Located within a multi-specialty health center with on-site labs, urgent care, pharmacy, and specialty referrals.
Patient-centered approach: Focuses on personalized, accessible care with convenient options like same-day and virtual visits.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions 

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.  
  • Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.  
  • Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.  
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.  
  • Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.  
  • Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.  
  • May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.  
  • Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.  
  • Physical Abilities Testing may be required.  
  • Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
