Position: Advocate Security Command Center (ASCC) Operator/Dispatcher
Location: Lutheran General hospital; Park Ridge, IL. - Command Center
Full Time; Night Shift
- Hours are 10pm-6:30am - working weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Purpose:
The Advocate Security Command Center (ASCC) Operator directly supports the Advocate Health Care goal of creating the safest place for patients to heal, physicians to practice, and associates to work. Maintains a common security operating picture to support command and control of all types of Advocate sites. The ASCC Operator monitors security systems, receives and prioritizes calls for assistance, and dispatches officer, often during times of urgency or crisis. Reports to the ASCC Lead Operator and ASCC Supervisor and works an assigned shift in in a 24~hour facility located at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 2 years of experience in a security Central Monitoring Station, Emergency Operations Center or security Dispatch Center.
- Security, law enforcement, and/or military experience are desirable.
- Knowledge of at least one the following:
- Experience responding to alarms such as burglar, fire, etc.
- Monitoring hardware and/or software such as signal receivers, alarm monitoring software Security and Fire hardware, CCTV, burglar or fire panels
- Emergency Response protocols and processes (public and private).
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to type 35~40 wpm. preferred
- Ability to use hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using notepad, computer, telephone, radio and other office machinery.
- Constant use of eyes (correctable vision Qualified applicants will be assessed using an automated skills~based tool.
Position requires attaining and maintaining certification from the Association of Public~Safety Communications Officials International (APCO) specifically, APCO's Public Safety Telecommunicator 1 certification, sixth edition within (12) months of employment. The Advocate Security Command Center provides security monitoring and dispatch to the Advocate enterprise on a 24/7/365 basis. Operators must be willing to work in a 24/7 operation.Position is subject to work weekends and holidays.
Working conditions require long periods of sitting or standing and being confined to work area.
The ASCC is ADA~accessible and equipped with sit~stand consoles for operators.
