Description

The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for having the right products, in the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantity globally by completing the demand plans of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) corporate process for the specified business unit(s).

Analyze key Demand Planning performance indicators and inputs to identify and present areas of business opportunities. Influences and enables the company to execute the detailed planning and execution and Business Unit strategies while providing the highest level of customer service. Develop, evaluate, adjust and communicate demand plans expressed in volume, cost and revenue for use in supply planning and demand-supply balancing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and ensure the completion of global demand plans including extension of 18 month rolling forecast and mix updates, at the aggregate product line, detail SKU and customer level for mature and new products/new markets ensuring alignment between revenue and demand plans
  • Collaborate with the commercial and marketing counterpart to provide/obtain sales, product and market related information
  • Ensure 24-month rolling product plans become inputs to Demand Management for creating demand and financial plans and contributes to the preparation of scenarios for financial/budget reconciliation as needed.
  • Partner with cross-functionals teams to gain alignment, collect, document and validate the assumptions of demand plans to support financial and business goals.
  • Ensure the completion of monthly deliverables and perform forecast/demand changes comparison summary/net impact evaluation reports for decision making and management reviews
  • Analyze performance and metrics to identify causes for forecast error and bias and develop and implement corrections
  • Coordinates cross-functional discussions to document and challenge Demand Plan assumptions and refine the forecast
  • Identify areas for Demand Planning and Demand Control process improvements and lead implementation as needed
  • Collaborates with team members to drive standardization, automation and implementation of advanced demand planning/control tools
  • Participate in weekly and monthly cross-functional teams to maintain Demand/Supply balance and resolve imbalances. Participate in the development and evaluation of scenario analysis to resolve imbalances.
  • Manage and execute monthly kit build process activities including build forecast adjustments, reallocations and build workbench.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve the demand planning capabilities
  • Partner with the business unit to identify and initiate improvements on business unit product lifecycle including product transitions, new product launches and replacement of expiring product.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and cost-effectiveness initiatives
  • Ensure use of identified forecasting system/software to analyze monthly forecast data
  • Know and Apply the Quality System and any appropriate Federal and international standards
  • Assist and support other employees, teams and sales personnel as necessary

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required
  • MBA Preferred

Experience

  • 6-10 years experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, Supply Chain or Finance
  • Previous experience working in a medical device or FDA regulated industry
  • Experience with QAD ERP/MRP system and Demand Planning software

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

  • Proficiency with various software packages including Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Working knowledge in Power BI (Building & Designing), Tableau, or similar business intelligence systems
  • Must possess and demonstrate strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter, proactive, well organized and able to make sound decisions from proper data analysis.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with cross functional teams
