Role Description This full-time Mortgage Loan Assistant role is a hybrid position based in Freehold, NJ, with a mix of in-office and work-from-home days. The Mortgage Loan Assistant will support loan officers by gathering, organizing, and reviewing borrower documentation, assisting with loan applications, and preparing files for processing and underwriting. Responsibilities include tracking the status of loans, updating internal systems, coordinating with borrowers, real estate agents, and internal teams, and helping to ensure files are complete and compliant. The role also involves answering borrower questions, scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate records, and providing proactive updates to help deliver a smooth, timely loan experience. The Mortgage Loan Assistant will collaborate closely with the mortgage team to meet deadlines, follow company procedures, and uphold high standards of service and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry and mortgage lending processes, including basic understanding of loan products and terminology.
- Experience working with loans and loan documentation, with attention to accuracy, compliance, and timely file management.
- Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with borrowers, team members, and external partners.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, with a focus on empathy, responsiveness, and building positive borrower relationships.
- High level of organization, time management, and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with mortgage software, CRM systems, and common office tools (e.g., MS Office, email, document management platforms).
