JOB TITLE -Summer Adventuretime Team Leader

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR - Adventuretime Coordinator
RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM - Building administrators, district leadership
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION - Supervise and participate in all aspects of the Adventuretime preschool and school age program involving activity planning, scheduling, and associate staff supervision and teacher/parent communication.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Ability to relate well with children. Understanding and ability to meet developmental needs of preschool and school age children.
- Knowledge and skill in childcare / child development, including what children are capable of at different age levels; health.
- Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.
- Knowledge of children’s activities that will get the child to use both their skill and imagination.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement program activities as well as participate in those activities.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Ability to be on time and follow through with responsibilities.
- Ability to serve as a positive role model for staff and children.
- Knowledge of and skill in managing on-site staff.

Education
- High School Education and/or brief technical training outside of high school.
Certification/Licensure
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (Adventuretime will provide training if needed)
- Current Mandatory Reporters of Child Abuse Certification
- Current Bloodborne Pathogens Certification
- Medication Administration Certification (Adventuretime will provide training)
- OSHA (Right to Know)
- Essentials of Childcare DHS Online trainings
Experience
- Six months - One year of childcare experience preferred.
Equipment
- Office equipment such as computers, two-way radios, multi-line phone system, cell phone, copier, and fax machines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

- Assist in Maintaining Accurate Records.
- Incident Reports
- Medication/Allergy Paperwork
- Weekly Lesson Plans
- Program Schedules
- Current Emergency Forms
- Field-trip Receipts.
- Planning
- Assist in Organizing, planning and preparing activities for the children; including ordering and receiving needed materials for activities.
- Communicating lesson plans to associates and making sure they are implemented on a daily basis.
- Assist in Arranging Field Trips.
- Assist in planning and preparing healthy daily snacks for children.
- Assist in developing and implementing positive behavior management plans that align with program expectations.
- Staff Development
- Attend staff development scheduled in May before summer program starts.
- Collaborate with the building team leader to discuss/modify lesson plans.
- Communication
- Develop positive relationships and communicate effectively with school staff, custodians, food service staff, teachers, principals, school secretaries, guidance counselors, and supervisors.
- Greet parents and students when they arrive and leave.
- Communicate positive and negative behaviors with parents on a daily basis.
- Provide parents with incident reports, newsletters, program changes or updates, upcoming events, and office contact information.
- Maintain confidentiality of children’s records.
- Site Safety
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, orderly, and safe environment.
- Utilize space effectively to meet the needs of children.
- Maintain appropriate child/staff ratios at all times.
- Follow DHS Food Safety/Sanitation guidelines when preparing and distributing snacks.
- Demonstrate proper examples for children in health and safety procedures. Monitor health of children; administer medications as prescribed, arrange for ill children to be taken home and fill out incident reports if a child is injured or in an accident.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS -
- Ability to organize and think clearly while communicating, organizing and evaluating.
- Frequent walking, running, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, using fingers, hands, feet, legs and torso participating in various activities with children.
- Drug, tobacco, and alcohol free while working.
- Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.
WORKING CONDITIONS -
- Majority of work is performed in an office, school, or field trip setting.
- Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, and hazardous materials and emergency situations.
- Required to work with children outside during all seasons.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT -
- At-Will Employee
- 10 weeks
- Work set schedule Monday-Friday each week.
- May take off a maximum of 5 (unpaid days) during the summer program.
- Per Board Policies and administrative guidelines.
