Unit Highlights:
The Emergency Department is a 29-bed Emergency Department, offering state-of-the-art technology in a comfortable healing environment. Within the ED, we serve patients of all ages and feature a dedicated pediatric waiting and 2 pediatric-friendly treatment rooms. We have a dedicated trauma room, bariatric room, 2 Baker Act safe rooms, OB-GYN rooms, isolation rooms, and decontamination room, all designed for individualized and safe care of all patients.
The collaborative design of the emergency department, involving nursing and support staff, made attention to detail and ease of workflow a priority that can be readily seen and felt by all employees and patients.
As a support to our geriatric patients and ED nursing staff, we have a dedicated senior care coordinator who specializes in care of patients aged 65 and older, collaborating with providers and nurses to ensure that proper care, consultation, referrals and community resources are provided to these patients. ED-based Pharmacists, Patient Financial Services Representatives and Care Managers also complement and support the ED staff.
Winter Park ED currently treats over 35,000 patients annually and is certified as a Primary Stroke Center. We take pride in being a community hospital with a family feel and caring staff who are dedicated to serving the residents of Winter Park and surrounding areas.
Schedule: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Shift: Evenings, 11:00am - 11:00pm (with weekend rotation)
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Associate of Science degree in Nursing
Current State of Florida or Multistate licensure as a Registered Nurse
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
