We are seeking a dedicatedCardiothoracic Surgical Physician Assistantto join our growing team in Ocala, FL. This role focuses on outpatient cardiology care, supporting patients with cardiovascular conditions through diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care in collaboration with supervising cardiologists.

Over the last six years, weve nearly tripled in size with a projection to grow to 835 providers by the end of 2025. With the addition of AdventHealth Port Charlotte, we span a broad geography in eight counties, with practices in Charlotte, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Marion, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties as well as five Care Pavilions. This role focuses on outpatient cardiology care, supporting patients with cardiovascular conditions through diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care in collaboration with supervising cardiologists.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient cardiology care under physician supervision.
- Conduct physical exams, obtain medical histories, and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
- Manage chronic cardiovascular conditions (e.g., hypertension, hyperlipidemia, heart failure).
- Adjust pacemaker settings and interpret electrocardiograms.
- Supervise and interpret nuclear and treadmill stress tests.
- Provide post-procedural follow-up and anticoagulation therapy management.
- Assist with or independently perform minor in-office procedures.
- Educate patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records.
- Participate in call coverage and occasional evening/weekend shifts as needed.
- Master of Science Physician Assistant studies.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a cardiology setting.
- Current Florida Physician Assistant license.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure.
