Manages consignment inventory and reconciles with suppliers at regular intervals. Processes purchase requisitions, consignment replacements, services, and non-stock supplies.
Reviews and assesses financial, clinical, contractual, and operational data. Participates in performance improvement activities, value analysis projects, and cost reduction initiatives.
Meets with suppliers to resolve issues, source products, and set up training and support for staff.
Directs resources to coordinate and integrate cost management data collection and analytics.
Facilitates requisitioning of local services, equipment rentals, and equipment leases.
Manages and updates PeopleSoft order sheets and the MedApproved process for their areas.
Provides cost analysis on products for department leadership to reduce supply costs.
Promotes customer service and supports all corporate and entity-specific policies and procedures relative to Supply Chain.
Serves as a liaison between hospital administrations, departments, clinical staff, GPO, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective utilization models. Coordinates product trials and evaluations in conjunction with the Materials Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Basic knowledge of products and equipment used in the specialty area. [Required]
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. [Required]
- Demonstrated ability to work independently. [Required]
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. [Required]
- Understanding of clinical procedure processes. [Required]
- In-depth knowledge of products and equipment used in Specialty Area. [Preferred]
- Some knowledge and experience in performing the duties associated with purchasing, receiving, shipping, and distribution. [Preferred]
- Demonstrates ability to use an ERP system. [Preferred]
Education:
- Bachelor's [Preferred]
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Field of Study:
- Law School
Work Experience:
- 5 years healthcare experience [Preferred]
- Experience within specified specialty department [Required]
- Experience working with Windows based Electronic Inventory System. (PeopleSoft, Lawson, etc.) [Preferred]
