Job Description:

• Establishes and implements hours of operation to meet departmental and customer needs.
• Identifies priorities to ensure safe, effective, and efficient departmental functioning.
• Establishes and implements the most effective staffing mix.
• Oversees the development, revision, and implementation of policies and procedures specific to the Employee Health Department and Workers’ Compensation program.
• Reviews and updates policies as scheduled, ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Maintains standards of nursing care and delivers safe and effective care as defined by organizational standards.
• Administers medications safely and effectively. Interacts with internal and external contacts to serve as a resource and exchange pertinent information while maintaining confidentiality.
• Attends depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings regarding Workers’ Compensation claims.
• Oversees and assists in the retrieval of data necessary for records and reports required for governmental regulations, insurance purposes, and various committees.
• Creates and provides reports required by internal reporting committees and external reporting agencies.
• Oversees the daily operations of the Employee Health Department and Workers’ Compensation program.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of Federal and State employment regulations as well as AHS and MHS Policies and Procedures [Required]
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills [Required]
• Ability to prioritize work and multi-task is essential [Required]
• Must have strong problem-solving skills and customer service orientation is critical, with demonstrated flexibility in work responsibilities and style to meet key customer/client needs [Required]
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and advanced computer skills [Required]
• Prefer knowledge of Joint Commission standards and OSHA regulations [Preferred]

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's [Preferred]

Field of Study:

• in Nursing and/or Health Care Administration or related field

Work Experience:

• 5 experience in employee health and/or workers compensation [Preferred]
• Critical care nursing experience [Preferred]
