Job Title: Junior Aviation Electrical Technician
Location: Panama City, FL
Security Clearance Requirements: Secret
Advent seeks a skilled and detail-focused Junior Level Electrical Technician to support aviation related maintenance and operations. You will help ensure performance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide array of electronic systems supporting the U.S. Navy's Landing Craft, Air Cushion Ship-to-Shore Connector (LCAC SSC) and legacy LCAC Weapon Systems fleet at NSWC Panama City, FL. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with mission-critical aviation related technology in dynamic environments, supporting the readiness and operational capability of aviation assets.
This work supports the U.S. Navy Landing Craft and Air Cushion Connector Ship-to-Shore (LCAC SSC) Legacy at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) as part of a depot repair, refurbishment, craft operation and maintenance team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and experience assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting
- Experience in using a variety of hand tools such as digital multi-meters and signal generators
- Demonstrated experience working with components and wiring circuits
- Proficiency in interpreting electronic schematics and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Avionics, or related field
- Formal military electrical / electronics training or certification (e.g., Navy/USAF avionics school)
- Experience with rotary- or fixed-wing aircraft systems
- Familiarity with military standards for aircraft systems
Clearance Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required and an active Secret security clearance or ability to get an Interim Secret before starting
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights as required
- Frequently lifts, moves, or carries up to 50 pounds
- Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling during inspections and repairs
- Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors in operational settings
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assemble and install equipment requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting electrical components while following detailed procedures to include replacement of components and wiring circuits
- Repair simple electrical/electronic equipment
- Take test readings using common precision measuring instruments (digital multi-meters and/or signal generators)
- Inspecting, testing, repairing, and maintaining electronic components and systems within aviation related equipment
- Reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Documenting maintenance and repair actions in accordance with standard procedures
- Conducting performance checks and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards
- Utilizing specialized testing equipment and software tools
- Adhering to all safety protocols and operational regulations
