Description:
The Valet Attendant provides a welcoming first and last impression for hotel guests by safely parking, securing, and retrieving guest vehicles. This role requires excellent customer service, strong communication skills, and the ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Valet Attendant also assists with guest luggage, directions, and local information while ensuring the smooth flow of traffic at the hotel entrance.
- Greet guests upon arrival and departure with a friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor.
- Safely park and retrieve guest vehicles in designated areas while following all driving and safety regulations.
- Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage or personal belongings.
- Maintain traffic flow at the entrance, keeping the drive clear for arriving and departing guests.
- Provide directions, hotel information, and recommendations for local attractions when requested.
- Accurately record vehicle information, issue claim tickets, and ensure the safe return of vehicles to their owners.
- Inspect vehicles for pre-existing damage and report any incidents immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the valet area and storage areas.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests promptly and professionally.
- Communicate effectively with front desk, bell staff, and management to coordinate guest needs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous customer service or valet/parking experience desirable but not required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain professional and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of luggage up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Must have excellent hand–eye coordination and quick reflexes for vehicle operation.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles of all sizes.
