CONTRACT-TO-HIRE | ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN | KCMO
An equipment manufacturer is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the creation and revision of as-built drawings (AutoCAD) for electrical, mechanical, and software teams.
- This contract-to-hire role involves using AutoCAD to develop production-ready designs, collaborating cross-functionally, and ensuring documentation accuracy. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions and transition into a permanent role.
- Anticipate $25-$29/hour
- Onsite in KCMO, M-F, 40 hours per week (may be occasional remote work, TBD)
- Ideally, this person would be converted to FT employee (based on performance)
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and revise 2D drawings and layouts using AutoCAD
- Develop as-built drawings, schematics, and assembly layouts/documentation for production and installation.
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and refine designs for standardized and custom products
- Maintain drawing files and documentation using version control (e.g., Autodesk Vault).
- Assist in troubleshooting design issues and provide timely updates based on feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and support design review processes.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or related field (preferred).
- 1 years of experience in technical drafting and engineering design support.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Electrical preferred)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Autodesk Vault) is a plus.
