General Summary
The Associate Director for the Contracts & Proposals Group (CPG) will be responsible for supporting requests across Advarra's business lines for requests for contracts and monitoring contract compliance, including negotiating contracts with clients, collaborating with internal teams to ensure negotiations are completed within established timelines, and serving as a liaison with sponsor, CRO and institutional clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of experience directly responsible for contract negotiation and management in the pharmaceutical industry.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Represent Advarra in business relationships with clients and vendors
- Manage the contracts team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of contract and agreement requests
- Provide contract negotiation support to the CPG staff and internal business stakeholders
- Reviews client and vendor agreements for legal, regulatory and operational compliance with Advarra's SOPs
- Ensures files, draft documents, and final documents are properly stored in Google Drive & Advarra's contract database
- Serves as a liaison for sponsors, CROs and institutional clients to confirm contract information and provide guidance
- Provides reports and updates on contract activity as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirement
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies or JD
Experience
- 5-8 years' experience in contract negotiations
- 1-2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Computer skills, including proficiency using MS Office, Excel, Word and Google Drive
- Contract negotiation and prioritization
- Strong analytical skills, as well as ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with internal and external clients with a high degree of professionalism
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work independently; planning, organizing, scheduling and completing work within deadlines
- Detail-oriented and possess strong written, oral and analytical skills
- Manage conflicting demands and priorities
- Ability to adapt to changes in office technology, equipment and/or processes
- Demonstrated consistency and dependability in quantity and quality of work
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary work station
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- This position requires regular oral/written interaction with clients, team members and management
- Infrequent traveling may be required within the United States
