What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Advantus Corp?
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for working in all areas of the warehouse required to maintain business operations that meets company standards for safety, security and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize warehouse management system to replenish pick locations, to gather and fill customer orders or in any manner needed to maintain warehouse operations.
- Must have the ability to operate powered equipment safely and efficiently, including RF scanners, electric pallet jacks and standard forklifts.
- Use material moving equipment to bring products and materials to the appropriate locations in support of warehouse operations.
- Perform mass material moves from overhead bins to bulk staging areas for picking, and load/unload materials onto or off pallets as required.
- Assist on operational lines when necessary.
Requirements:
- High School Education
- Excels in time management, multi-tasking and balancing multiple requests at one time.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow directions and change priorities or job duties as business needs require; rotate to other department functions as needed.
- Must be able to read, write, and have sufficient English speaking ability.
- Basic math skills necessary.
- Must be willing to work in all warehouse functions, to include, but are not limited to, loading/unloading of trucks & containers, wrapping & unwrapping pallets, boxing & unboxing product, etc.
Other Job Demands:
- Some overtime and Saturdays may be required.
- Willing and able to work in a hot and cold warehouse environment.
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 75 lbs.
- Extended periods of standing/walking/bending/stooping/kneeling on concrete floors
