Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) Manager

Advantic Building Group
Miamisburg, OH Full Time
POSTED ON 10/23/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/21/2026

Build a Safety Program. Protect Our People. Support Our Growth.

At Advantic Building Group, we design, fabricate, and install innovative Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) structural systems that help our customers build smarter, safer, and more efficiently.

But what truly sets Advantic apart isn’t just what we build — it’s how we work and who we work with.

We're a team that values ownership, camaraderie, and curiosity. We roll up our sleeves, tackle challenges together, and support one another along the way. At Advantic, culture isn't a poster on the wall. It's reflected in how we communicate, solve problems, and show up for our teammates every day. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an HSE leader who shares those values and can help strengthen the culture we've built while keeping safety at the center of how we operate.

We're seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead, build, and continuously improve our company-wide safety program across our two manufacturing facilities and customer project sites where Advantic employees and subcontractors install structural systems.

This is a working leadership role. We're looking for someone who can build relationships, influence culture, and create practical safety solutions that support our people and our business.

You'll have the opportunity to develop strategy, implement programs, coach leaders, engage employees, and build the foundation for a scalable HSE function as the company continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and Improve Our HSE Program

  • Assess the current state of ABG's HSE program and develop a prioritized roadmap for compliance, risk reduction, and continual improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide HSE policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Establish safety goals, metrics, and reporting that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Advise leadership on compliance, risk management, and safety strategy.
  • Design the future HSE organization and support the selection, onboarding, and development of additional HSE personnel as the company grows.

Support Manufacturing and Field Operations

  • Maintain a regular presence in both manufacturing facilities; perform inspections, observations, risk assessments, and task-level reviews with employees and team leads.
  • Travel 25% of the time to customer project sites to assess conditions, verify compliance, coach field teams, and support project leadership.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, occupational health, and safety requirements, including OSHA and relevant EPA/state environmental regulations.
  • Partner with operations leaders to identify hazards and implement practical solutions.
  • Review site-specific safety plans, job hazard analyses, and project documentation.

Build a Strong Safety Culture

  • Develop and deliver engaging training, onboarding, toolbox talks, and safety communications.
  • Coach employees and leaders through a visible, approachable, and solutions-oriented leadership style.
  • Foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting concerns, near misses, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop, coordinate, deliver, and track required HSE training programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazard communication, PPE, machine safety, and other OSHA-required training; maintain accurate training records and ensure employees remain current on all required certifications and refreshers.

Incident Management and Continual Improvement

  • Lead or facilitate investigations of injuries, illnesses, environmental events, near misses, property damage, and high-potential exposures using sound root-cause methods.
  • Coordinate reporting and case management with leadership, HR, medical providers, insurance partners, customers, and regulatory agencies, as appropriate.
  • Own corrective and preventive action tracking, verify effectiveness, identify trends, and share lessons learned across facilities and projects.
  • Support emergency preparedness through plans, drills, response coordination, and post-event reviews.

Why Advantic?

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing organization where you'll have the ability to influence strategy, build programs, and make a lasting impact on both our people and our business. You'll work alongside a team that values ownership, camaraderie, curiosity, and doing the right thing. As Advantic continues to grow, you'll play a key role in helping us protect what matters most: our people, our culture, and our commitment to safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience and credentials may be considered.
  • 7 years of progressive HSE experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial, field-service, or similarly complex environments.
  • Experience building or significantly improving safety programs.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
  • Experience conducting audits, training, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Demonstrated experience building or materially improving an HSE program—not only administering an established corporate system.
  • Ability to move comfortably between executive-level advising and hands-on work with employees in the field and on the manufacturing floor.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet site-access requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, ASP, or equivalent.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction and/or General Industry training; authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer status is a plus.
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities and geographically dispersed project teams.
  • Experience working with general contractors, customer site-safety organizations, subcontractors, and safety prequalification platforms.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, workers' compensation, return-to-work practices, and ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 management systems.

Physical demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively through speaking and listening. The role typically involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift or move objects up to 15 pounds.
