CNC Machine Operator

Advantage TerraFab has an immediate opening for a CNC Machine Operator- 1st Shift & 2nd shift. Performs advanced production activities requiring a demonstrated high level of skill and proficiency in material handling, production processes and multiple machine operation required through extended experience and training.

Duties and Responsibilites:

• Position work pieces for processing.
• Operates a combination of different machines to process work by cutting, burning, sawing, blasting, shearing, punching, grinding, bending, or pressing.
• Uses gauges, calipers, squares, or rulers for measurement.
• Determines processing specifications such as materials, cutting tools, location of cutting lines, dimentions, tolerances, and operational sequences by reviewing blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions or other written specifications.
• Installs and aligns specified punches, cutting blades, or other fixtures in machine bed using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, or hand tools.
• Adjusts controls to set cutting speed depth, and feed rates; and diagnose problems and makes necessary adjustments.
• Performs quality control inspections on finished product; for ISO-certified locations, performs in Process Quality Inspections.
• Coordinates and executes material handling of all inventories to be processed including operation of overhead crane.
• Performs limited preventative maintenance, such as lubrication, cleaning and changing of parts.
• May train less experienced workers and perform as lead in absence of group leader.
• May mark identification on material/work pieces before processing.
• May mark material after processing; store matrial for additional processing and/or shipping.
• Restocks material.
• Completes work order paperwork/documentation.

Requirements:

• Reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions, safety, and policy manuals.)
• Measuring skills to read English and Metric Systems and a tape measure, caliper, gauges, or micrometer.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.
• Experience operating an overhead crane/forklift operator.
• Must be proficient in the use of hand tools including grinder.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination.
• Computer literacy; Microsof Productions, CAD Programming and ERP.
• Must be organized with attention to detail.
• Candidate must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Physical Demands:

• Occupaion requires physical activity more than 66% of the time (>5.5 hours per day)
• Stand, walk, sit, handling/fingering. reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, squat, kneel, or bend.
• Left, carry, push/pull 50-100 pounds with assistance.
• Must wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Steel-toed boots or metatarsal boots.
• Hard hats with chin strap; chin strap must be worn at all times while in the warehouse.
• Protective eyeware.
• Hand protection.
• Arm guards/sleeves.
• Hearing protection if required by the hearing conservation program.

Work Environment:

May be exposed to some of the following work conditions:

• Environmental temperature changes hot &cold.
• Moderate to loud levels.
• Vibration.
• Oils, dust, fumes and metallic particles.
• Day and night shifts.

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
