Product Line Manager – Subsea Systems & Software
Overview
The Product Line Manager is responsible for defining the strategic direction, lifecycle management, and profitability of a global undersea, terminal equipment, and software product portfolio. This role leads cross‑functional teams to shape product vision, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with market needs and organizational objectives. The ideal candidate brings deep subsea industry insight, strong technical fluency, and business acumen to deliver high‑value, market‑leading solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the product line strategy in alignment with corporate priorities.
- Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitive landscapes to guide product positioning and investment decisions.
- Build multi‑year product roadmaps and long‑term investment plans.
Product Lifecycle Ownership
- Manage the full lifecycle of products—from concept and requirements definition through development, launch, optimization, and end‑of‑life.
- Track product performance, profitability, and adoption; adjust strategy based on data‑driven insights.
- Lead cost‑reduction initiatives and value‑engineering efforts to improve competitiveness and margins.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Lead cross‑functional teams including engineering, R&D, sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
- Serve as the internal voice of the customer and market, ensuring product decisions reflect real‑world needs.
- Partner with R&D to prioritize features, evaluate technical feasibility, and guide innovation pipelines.
Market & Customer Engagement
- Support go‑to‑market activities including pricing, positioning, and sales enablement.
- Act as a technical and commercial point‑of‑contact for strategic customers, supporting major deals and long‑term agreements.
- Build and strengthen partner ecosystems, including vendors, integrators, and technology partners, to expand product reach and revenue opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10 years of experience in product management, product strategy, or related leadership roles.
- Proven success managing complex product portfolios and launching new products.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience in the subsea or telecommunications infrastructure industry.
Additional Information
- International travel should be expected.
- Compensation: Approximately $180K base plus bonus.
