Lead Civil / Structural Engineer
Position Location: Mobile, AL
Position Type: Long Term Contract (1 year )
Position Salary: $90/HR - $100/HR Per Diem
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Civil or Structural Engineering; Higher Education is a plus
- 8 years relevant work experience on Industrial or similar small to large Capex projects
- Professional Engineer license is preferred; Will consider a PE from any state
- Prior experience as a Project Manager on single discipline projects is highly preferred.
- Prior experience as a CSA lead on major capital projects is preferred.
- Has the ability to supervise engineering staff on industrial projects that range from small to large capital size projects.
- Act as the Senior engineer on the project with limited or minimal supervision
- Ability to assemble and review bid packages for civil/structural work scopes.
- Familiar with applicable engineering codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, etc.) required
- Experience with civil/structural analysis software (Risa 3D & Risa Foundation preferred).
- Must be proficient with CAD software and Microsoft Office.
- Has the ability to produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs suitable for the level of the estimate being performed on a project.
- Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks.
- Independently applies knowledge and continuously develop quality programs for the department.
- Establishes related processes and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality.
- Provides guidance and direction to others and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Must be able to perform field work to gather relevant project data and provide construction support as required. (25-35% travel into the field as needed on projects)
- Has the knowledge and experience to check calculations made by other engineers to ensure code and specification conformance and good engineering practice.
