Role Description The CNC Machinist role at Advantage Machine & Mfg. is a full-time, on-site position located in Plano, TX. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce parts according to engineering drawings and work orders. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tools, performing offsets and adjustments, and inspecting parts to verify dimensions and tolerances. Maintaining a clean, safe work area and following all company safety and quality standards are essential aspects of this role.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in CNC Machine Operation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Machining and Milling, with the ability to read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and work to tight tolerances.
- Candidates should possess skills in Quality Control, including in-process inspection and documentation of results.
- Knowledge of CNC programming basics (G-code, tooling selection) and familiarity with different materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics) are beneficial. GIBBS experience a real plus!
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team are required.
- Five years of previous experience as a CNC machinist or related manufacturing role is preferred; vocational training or technical certification in machining is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights safely, and comply with all shop safety protocols is necessary.
