Looking for a Class A driving position with steady hours, some variety, and limited time away from home?
We’re looking for an experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our growing medical waste services company. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with a mix of local and regional driving, along with limited overnight and multi-day runs.
Most of your work will be local or regional, but there will be occasional longer-distance trips to locations such as Ohio, Connecticut, and Texas. When you’re not scheduled for a Class A run, you may assist with local routes, box truck routes, or other driving needs.
If you like the idea of having some variety instead of running the same route every day, this could be a great fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Safely operating Class A commercial vehicles in accordance with company, DOT, and FMCSA requirements
- Completing local and regional routes, pickups, and deliveries
- Completing limited overnight and multi-day out-of-state runs as scheduled
- Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reporting vehicle or safety concerns
- Safely loading, securing, transporting, and unloading materials as required
- Following proper procedures for the transportation and handling of regulated materials
- Using GPS and route information to safely and efficiently complete assigned routes
- Maintaining accurate driver logs, trip records, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork
- Following Hours of Service and other applicable DOT requirements
- Communicating with dispatch and management regarding schedules, route changes, delays, or issues while on the road
- Providing professional and courteous service when interacting with customers
- Assisting with non-CDL box truck routes or other local driving assignments when needed
- Following company safety procedures and keeping assigned vehicles clean and properly maintained
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with solid Class A experience who takes safety seriously, knows what’s expected of a professional CDL driver, and is flexible enough to help with other driving needs when not on a Class A run.
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 years of recent Class A CDL driving experience
- Hazmat endorsement preferred; candidates without the endorsement must be willing and able to obtain it after hire
- Safe driving record
- Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
- Experience completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Experience maintaining required driver logs and documentation
- Comfortable with local, regional, and highway driving
- Willing and able to complete limited overnight and multi-day trips
- Willing to operate non-CDL box trucks and assist with local routes when needed
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently
- Good communication, time-management, and route-navigation skills
- Ability to meet all applicable DOT and company requirements
A Little More About the Position
This is not a traditional over-the-road position where you’ll spend most of your time away from home. Overnight and multi-day travel is limited.
Your schedule will include a mix of local and regional work with occasional longer-distance runs. Some days you may be behind the wheel of a Class A vehicle, while other days you may help with a box truck route or another local driving assignment.
We need someone who understands that safety comes first but who also enjoys variety and is willing to jump in where needed.
