Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and demonstrate proficiency in various medical practices. This role involves providing high-quality patient care, conducting assessments, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner will work in diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and assisted living facilities.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments for patients of all ages.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, including but not limited to gastroenterology, infectious diseases, and behavioral health.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and spinal taps as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments, including botulinum toxin treatments and dermal fillers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education on health management, disease prevention, and wellness strategies to patients and families.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance patient care practices.
- Manage patient care in various settings including urgent care, primary care, hospital medicine, and home care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in critical care or acute care settings; experience in pediatrics or geriatrics is preferred.
- Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, and workers' compensation law is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Experience with telehealth services is a plus.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations and interpret medical imaging results.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases through effective case management techniques.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care is beneficial.
