Position Title: Mobile Wound Care Assistant
Location: Farmington Hills and Surrounding Areas

Reports to: Office Manager
This is a mobile position that requires travel 4 days a week.
Advanced Wound Care of Caro is hiring a mobile wound care assistant to assist in the care of patients in the patient's home or in a facility type setting. This position will travel from patient to patient during the workday. This position is part time (4 days per week) and may have varying start and end times from day to day.
The Wound Care Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the wound care team by providing high-quality care to patients in various settings. This position involves traveling to patients' homes, nursing facilities, or other locations to assist a wound care provider with wound assessments, treatments, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Assist in the assessment and management of patients with wounds, including dressing changes and application of topical treatments.
- Monitor and document wound healing progress and report any concerns to the supervising clinician.
- Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to individuals with varying degrees of wound severity.
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the wound care team's calendar.
- Ensure all medical supplies and equipment are stocked and organized.
- Patient Education:
- Under the direction of the provider, educate patients and their families about wound care practices, prevention, and self-care techniques.
- Provide information on maintaining a healthy lifestyle to promote healing.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices in wound care as required.
- Transportation:
- Must have a reliable mode of transportation.
- Adhere to all safety and operational protocols while on the road.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in wound care, home health, or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with wound care techniques and knowledge of infection control practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, roll and move patients as needed.
- Ability to stoop, crouch, bend and reach as needed.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to adjust to working in various environments, including homes and healthcare facilities.
- Must have a current unrestricted Michigan Driver's License.
- A satisfactory background check is required.
Work Environment:
- This position requires travel within the community to provide mobile care services. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
