We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer to contribute to our dynamic operations within the oil and gas industry. You will be responsible for the design, development, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems used in the extraction, processing, and transportation of oil and gas. Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze mechanical systems and equipment, including but not limited to drilling equipment, pipelines, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, turbines, and processing machinery.
- Develop and review technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications for mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
- Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and calculations to ensure the efficiency, safety, and reliability of mechanical designs.
- Select appropriate materials and components considering factors such as pressure, temperature, corrosion resistance, and environmental conditions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, chemical, and process engineers, as well as operations and maintenance personnel.
- Develop, implement, and oversee maintenance programs and procedures for mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical equipment failures and develop effective solutions and preventative measures.
- Participate in the procurement process, including vendor evaluation and equipment inspection.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards (e.g., ASME, API), safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Provide technical support for the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new mechanical equipment and systems.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices in mechanical engineering within the oil and gas sector.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Participate in risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits.
- Manage small to medium-scale engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 4 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and materials science.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Commitment to safety and environmental regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to field locations or project sites as required.
