Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our Test Engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, executing, and improving test strategies across AWC’s full portfolio of hardware products.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electronic hardware testing, with the ability to validate systems at the board, device, and system integration levels. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product reliability, manufacturability, and field performance across a wide range of hardware solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for electronic hardware products
- Perform functional, performance, environmental, and reliability testing
- Develop and maintain automated and semi-automated test setups where applicable
- Troubleshoot and isolate issues at the component, board, and system levels
- Support new product introduction (NPI) through validation and test readiness
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers to resolve issues
- Validate hardware performance across real-world use cases and edge conditions
- Capture, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis
- Analyze test data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Assist in developing manufacturing test strategies and fixtures
- Improve test coverage, methodologies, and lab processes over time
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and product requirements
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in hardware test engineering, validation, or related role
- Strong experience testing electronic hardware products and systems
- Solid understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and embedded hardware
- Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators
- Experience troubleshooting at the component and system level
- Ability to read schematics and datasheets
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with automated test systems and scripting
- Familiarity with manufacturing test processes and fixture design
- Experience working with embedded systems or microcontroller-based designs
- Knowledge of product development lifecycle and NPI processes
- Certifications such as CET, IPC, or similar
