Job Description

As part of the AWC Implementation Team, the Project Coordinator (PC) helps coordinate the successful delivery of Emergency Responder Communications Enhancement Systems (ERCES) from initial requirements gathering through project closeout.

This role works closely with customers, Fire Marshals, AHJs, Radio Managers, subcontractors, and internal teams to coordinate project requirements, permitting, documentation, testing, inspections, and system commissioning. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, reliable, detail-oriented, willing to learn, and committed to AWC’s standards for quality and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Fire Marshals, inspectors, Radio Managers, and other Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) across the country to gather requirements for the design, installation, and operation of ERCES systems.
• Coordinate project activities related to AHJ discovery, site surveys, permitting, submittals, testing, inspections, and closeout.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation using AWC’s internal file system.
• Develop and maintain project trackers, checklists, submittals, and other documentation needed to keep projects on track.
• Review project documents, including designs, scopes of work, and other project deliverables.
• Stay current on applicable national and state codes and standards, including IBC, IFC, NFPA, and NEC, as they relate to ERCES projects.
• Maintain and update AWC’s internal AHJ database.
• Determine and communicate baseline testing requirements for planned ERCES systems and scopes of work.
• Coordinate post-construction activities, including system data collection, inspections, and acceptance testing as required by the AHJ.
• Coordinate, track, and verify subcontractor work related to AHJ discovery, site surveys, permitting, and submittals.
• Attend virtual and in-person project and stakeholder meetings.
• Communicate project issues that may affect completion, schedule, budget, or customer expectations to the Implementation/Service Manager and customer.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure project work meets AWC’s “Gold Standard” expectations for quality and customer service.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience in public safety, land mobile radio, telecommunications, ERCES, Cellular DAS, or a related industry preferred.
• CAPM or NICET-IBPSC certification, or willingness to work toward certification.
• Working knowledge of IBC, IFC, NFPA, and NEC codes and standards as they relate to ERCES projects.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, designs, scopes of work, and other project documentation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to meet customer deadlines and serve as a key point of contact for AWC/customer project issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, project management tools, and other computer applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
