What are the responsibilities and job description for the RADT - Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician (Full Time and Part Time) position at Advanced Wellness Detox Center?
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated RADT to join our behavioral health and addiction treatment team. The RADT Tech plays a vital role in providing safe, supportive care to individuals undergoing detoxification, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being throughout the process. This position requires a strong understanding of medical and behavioral health practices, along with excellent crisis management skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, including children, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, PTSD, and other behavioral health needs.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition
- Assist with intake procedures and medical documentation to ensure accurate records of patient progress
- Administer medication as prescribed, following HIPAA regulations and medical protocols
- Implement behavior management strategies and applied behavior analysis techniques to support patient stability
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations safely and effectively
- Support patients with behavioral health needs, including those with autism, PTSD, or developmental disabilities
- Collect data related to patient behaviors, medication effects, and treatment responses for ongoing assessment
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and managing patient interactions with compassion
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical staff, and behavioral specialists
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
- Additional duties as they arise
Requirements
- Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Current registration as RADT with CCAPP, current CPR/First Aid certification, current TB test.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavior management techniques
- Background in addiction counseling or substance abuse treatment is highly desirable
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
- Strong communication skills for effective documentation and collaboration within healthcare teams
- Certification or training in behavior analysis or applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a plus
- Experience working within HIPAA guidelines ensuring patient confidentiality at all times
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
