What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Technician position at Advanced Veterinary Care of Pasco?
Ready to help build something new? Advanced Veterinary Care of Pasco is entering an exciting new chapter under new ownership & management and we’re looking for experienced Veterinary Assistants and Veterinary Technicians to help us build the team and practice we want to become.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than just another veterinary job. We’re building from the ground up, which means you’ll have the chance to bring your experience, share your ideas, and have a real voice in how our team works together and cares for our patients.
We’re looking for someone who is confident in their clinical skills, communicates well, and can jump in and make an impact from day one. Because we’re currently a small and growing team, this position may also occasionally help support the front desk, so flexibility and strong client communication skills are important.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your experience, responsibilities may include:
- Monitoring anesthesia, surgery, and patient recovery
- Venipuncture and blood collection
- Assisting with surgical and dental procedures
- Patient restraint and handling
- Supporting appointments, treatments, and diagnostics
- Assisting with digital and dental radiography
- Maintaining accurate medical records
- Communicating with clients and the veterinary team
- Providing occasional front desk support, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking clients in and out, and assisting with client communication
- Helping us develop efficient workflows as our hospital grows
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for experienced Veterinary Assistants and Veterinary Technicians who have a strong clinical foundation and are comfortable working with a high level of independence.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Have previous hands-on veterinary experience
- Are comfortable monitoring anesthesia and surgical patients
- Can confidently perform blood draws and assist with common treatments and procedures
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Aren’t afraid to speak up, ask questions, and advocate for your patients
- Are dependable, adaptable, and comfortable taking initiative
- Want to contribute ideas and help shape a growing practice
Credentialed technicians are welcome and encouraged to apply, but credentialing is not required for an experienced candidate with the right skill set.
Pay & Perks that Matter
Our benefits currently include:
- Competitive hourly wage of $18-22/hour, based on experience. Credentialed Veterinary Technicians are eligible for higher compensation.
- Medical Insurance with 50% employer contribution
- Dental & Vision options available
- 100% Employer Paid Life Insurance, Short-term & Long-term Disability
- 401k with immediate participation eligibility. Employer Match will be implemented ASAP!
- Paid Time Off & 6 Paid Holidays
- Discounted Pet Care
- Continuing Education support based on individual needs
- And more!
Under new ownership, we have a unique opportunity to create something special in Hudson. We’re building our team, refining our processes, and creating the kind of practice where experienced veterinary professionals can contribute their ideas instead of simply being told, “That’s how we’ve always done it.”
If you’re an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician looking for a fresh start and the opportunity to help shape a growing practice, we’d love to meet you!
