Medical Assistant
Employment Classification: Full-time, 35-40 hours weekly/Non-Exempt
Reports To:
Assignment Focus: The Medical Assistant (MA) will work alongside AVLC providers in the clinical setting. The MA is responsible for basic medical tasks, working with patients and assisting AVLC providers during treatments.
Role: Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of AVLC, the MA will work closely with patients and providers in administering medical services.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists ALVC providers with patient treatments.
- Check in patients including collecting medical history, taking pictures and documenting current problems.
- Assist with checking out patients and scheduling follow up appointments.
- Ensure all rooms are ready for the next procedure including stocking of equipment such as gloves, needles, gowns, etc. Utilizing sterile technique as required.
- Answer incoming calls and questions from patients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma.
- Minimum of one (1) year professional work experience in patient care.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- CPR preferred.
- Demonstrated competencies and skills for the position, including organizational skills, excellent communication, customer service, relationship development, and team work.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
