Job Description:
The Plant Manager at Advanced Vehicle Assemblies, LLC is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling activities at a subsidiary operation to achieve budgeted financial objectives.
This senior management role requires exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills to oversee production, quality, engineering, human resources, and materials across multiple functional areas.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Develops and recommends short- and long-range objectives consistent with corporate guidelines.
- Covers plant operations within company guidelines pertaining to quality, human relations, customer relations, safety, and security.
- Evaluates forecasts, establishes material and human resource requirements, and implements necessary directives for efficient production.
- Provides grievance and personal counseling and keeps employees informed of policies, procedures, and operational changes.
- Monitors plant activity and takes actions to ensure maximum profitability of plant operations.
- Administers plant policies to achieve consistency with the policies of AVA Automotive Systems.
- Maintains good labor/management relationship.
- Confers with customers regarding plant procedures and status of programs, projects, and operations as they pertain to their particular needs.
- Exchanges information regarding plant operations with other AVA organization units to correlate and coordinate activities.
- Evaluates and responds to profit/loss statements, operation reports, and performance records to ensure expected performance levels.
- Determines schedules, forecasts, and budgets for plant resources, equipment, supplies, facilities, and promotions.
- May be involved in the financial function of the plant, which would include approval of all requests for plant capital expenditures, payroll budgets, and financial resources to balance investments with productivity.
- Ensures proper management development.
- Develops, implements, and monitors day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for key initiatives.
- Builds and maintains relationships with all department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
- Works with Materials Management to reduce risk and the amount invested in inventory.
- Plans, monitors, and analyzes key metrics for the day-to-day performance of operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
- Key Performance Indicators:
- Identifies and implements process improvements that maximize output and minimize costs.
- Upholds organizational policies and standards.
- Works closely with human resources to lead teams with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
- Completes other projects as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including quality, finance, customer service, production, and employee management.
- Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Able to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands.
- Strong working knowledge of stamping, welding, and assembly processes.
- Strong working knowledge of industry standards and manufacturing best practices.
- Negotiation skills in both internal and external settings.
- Organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success.
- Strong working knowledge of PLEX.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field.
- 10 years of senior leadership experience in operations with prior plant management experience.
- Experience with budget and business plan development.
- Experience with metal forming processes (stamping, roll forming, bending, welding, cold forming, assembly).
