Sterile Processing Technician

Job Title – Position Description: Technician Sterile Processing

Reports to: Site Manager

MISSION

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for preparing, tracking, and sterilizing equipment and instruments in an accurate and timely manner, as well as supplying the operating room with case carts, sterile trays, and supplies for all areas of the Ambulatory Surgery Center. 

OUTCOMES

• Maintains clean and sterile equipments in accordance to manufacturer recommendations and current policies with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
• Willing to learn and adopt new responsibilities based on shifting demands of providers and the medical team.
• Effectively provides quality control through routine testing and cleaning to assure sterilization equipment and instruments are functioning properly, while continuining to provide accurate documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Credentials/Licensures:

• Sterile Processing Certification  

OR

• 1 year of experience in sterile processing field

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous, Job Relevant Work Experience:

• 2 years of experience in sterile processing field
• 1 years of experience in urology/urogynecology field
• 1 year of experience in robotic instrument sterilization (Alpharetta Location Only)

Credentials/Licensures:

• Sterile Processing Certification
