Job Title: Project Controls Analyst – Telecom (Sitetracker & Data Analytics)
Location: Woodridge, IL (On-site 4 days per week; local Chicagoland candidates only)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-driven and financially focused Project Controls Analyst with strong experience in the telecom industry. This role will play a critical part in ensuring project success by providing visibility into financial performance, change orders, and project execution metrics. The ideal candidate will bring advanced Excel expertise and deep Sitetracker proficiency to deliver meaningful insights that drive accountability, efficiency, and profitability across our projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and analyze project financial performance, with emphasis on change order management, budget adherence, and variance analysis.
- Develop and maintain advanced reporting in Sitetracker and Excel to monitor project progress, cash flow, margins, and schedule performance.
- Proactively identify risks, cost overruns, and performance issues, recommending corrective actions to leadership.
- Partner with project managers to ensure change orders are logged, approved, and tracked through completion for accurate forecasting and billing.
- Deliver executive-level dashboards and reports that highlight key project management and financial KPIs.
- Support continuous improvement by standardizing controls, ensuring data integrity, and streamlining reporting processes.
- Provide data-driven insights to guide decisions on resource allocation, cost control, and customer commitments.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in project controls, financial analysis, or related roles in the telecom industry.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, financial modeling, formulas, dashboards, macros preferred).
- Proven Sitetracker expertise (or similar tool) – reporting, dashboards, workflows, and financial tracking.
- Power BI proficiency a plus
- Strong business acumen with the ability to link project performance to financial outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills to present findings to leadership and collaborate across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree..
