Job Overview:
Advanced Technical Staffing Solutions (ATSS) is hiring experienced First-Class Pipefitters for multiple shipbuilding and marine projects along the Gulf Coast. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile vessel construction projects, including Coast Guard ships, with competitive pay, overtime, and long-term potential.
Pay & Schedule:
- Pay Range: $23.25 – $48.00/hour (depending on location, experience, and shift)
- Per Diem for Pascagoula Job Only: Up to $180/day (for qualified candidates living 75 miles away)
- Schedule Options:
- 40 hours overtime (including weekends)
- 4x10 schedules (Monday–Thursday)
- Day and night shifts available
Job Responsibilities:
- Lay out, fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings
- Perform pipe fitting, alignment, and installation of valves and fittings
- Fabricate pipe spools using proper fit-up techniques
- Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic testing
- Install pipe supports and ensure proper system function
- Work in shipyard environments including confined spaces and varying heights
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety standards
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3–4 years of pipefitting experience (marine/shipbuilding preferred but Oil & Gas or Industrial will be considered)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of pipe systems, valves, fittings, and materials
- Experience with hand and power tools related to trade
- Basic math and measurement skills (standard and metric)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with tack, stick, and TIG welding
- Knowledge of pipe fabrication and installation techniques
- Ability to train or assist junior team members
Requirements:
- Must be able to pass:
- Drug screen (including hair follicle in some cases)
- Background check (no violent felonies, as required)
- Physical exam and Fit Test (as required)
- Must be able to complete a written and/or hands-on skills test
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (for certain roles)
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English (for most roles)
Work Environment:
- Shipyard setting with exposure to weather conditions
- Work at heights and in confined spaces may be required
- Overtime and weekend work available based on project needs
Tools Required (varies by location):
Candidates may be required to provide standard pipefitting tools, including pipe wrenches, measuring tools, levels, and other trade-specific equipment.
