Quoting Specialist

Position Summary

Advanced Technical Finishing, a leader in chemical processing/ metal finishing services and non-destructive testing, is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Quotations Specialist to manage the preparation and submission of quotes in response to customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs). This role is critical to our sales process, serving as the bridge between customer requirements and our production capabilities to deliver accurate, timely, and competitive pricing.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze incoming RFQs from customers to determine scope, specifications, and processing requirements
• Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates for metal finishing and chemical processing services (e.g., plating, anodizing, passivation, coating, or other applicable processes)
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to confirm process capabilities, lead times, and material requirements
• Calculate pricing based on labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and other cost factors while maintaining target margins
• Track and manage multiple RFQs simultaneously, ensuring quotes are submitted within customer deadlines
• Maintain accurate records of quotes, follow-ups, and win/loss outcomes in the company's CRM/ quoting system
• Communicate directly with customers to clarify specifications, answer questions, and negotiate terms as needed
• Identify opportunities to streamline the quoting process and improve turnaround times
• Support sales and business development efforts by providing pricing guidance and market insight
• Ensure all quotes comply with company policies, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is a bonus
• 2 years of experience in quoting, estimating, or sales support, ideally within a manufacturing, metal finishing, or chemical processing environment is preferred
• Strong understanding of the RFQ submission to Quoting process
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quoting/ERP software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong customer service orientation and professionalism

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or NADCAP quality systems
• Experience reading engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Prior experience in a job-shop or contract manufacturing environment
