Primary Purpose:

Provide campus security and student supervision support to help maintain a safe and orderly school environment. Monitor campus activity, support student behavior expectations, assist with traffic and visitor management, and respond appropriately to safety and security concerns.

 

Qualifications:

Education and Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Clear and valid Texas driver’s license

Experience

  • Experience working with students, security operations, law enforcement, customer service, or related fields (preferred)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of campus safety procedures and student supervision practices
  • Proficient verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to clearly and accurately document incidents and observations
  • Ability to clearly and accurately record information
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, visitors, and law enforcement personnel

 

Key Responsibilities:

Student Management

  • Patrol assigned campus areas to support student safety, campus security, and orderly operations.
  • Monitor student behavior and enforce campus expectations related to student conduct, vehicle operation, and parking.
  • Assist in resolving student conflicts and report disturbances or safety concerns to campus administration.

Security and Parking

  • Control traffic and parking on campus grounds during school and after-hours events.
  • Register student vehicles and maintain accurate registration records.
  • Work cooperatively with campus staff to notify students regarding vehicle concerns or violations.
  • Notify law enforcement, fire department personnel, or other emergency responders regarding situations requiring immediate attention.
  • Assist law enforcement personnel and emergency responders as needed.
  • Provide directions and assistance to authorized visitors and staff.
  • Notify police, fire department, or other appropriate authorities of any situation requiring immediate attention.

 

Other Duties:

  • Adhere to all district policies, procedures, and expectations as outlined in the employee handbook and administrative regulations.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Participate in professional development, faculty/department meetings, and special events as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the department and district.

  • None

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Tools and Equipment Used: District vehicle, two-way radio, alarm system and other security equipment, fire extinguisher, and standard office equipment including computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing

Motion: Strenuous walking and climbing stairs; occasional keyboarding and use of mouse, moderate driving

Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (15-44 pounds)

Environment: Work inside and outside (moderate exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); moderate exposure to noise and vehicle exhaust; frequent districtwide travel

Other: Specific hearing and visual requirements; may be subject to adverse and hazardous working conditions, including violent and armed confrontations; ability to control sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously

Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; prolonged hours; on call 24 hours a day
