Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to oversee complex technical programs from initiation through delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, excels at cross-functional coordination, and is comfortable driving schedules, budgets, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment. This role requires excellent communication, leadership ability, and strong customer-interface skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage assigned programs through full lifecycle—planning, execution, monitoring, and completion
- Maintain program schedules, budgets, milestones, and risk plans
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, leadership, and external partners
- Ensure all customer requirements are met and documented
- Prepare and deliver technical and status presentations to customers and internal stakeholders
- Support proposal development, cost estimates, and strategic planning
- Oversee subcontractors, purchase orders, and program-related logistics
- Identify issues early and implement solutions to keep programs on track
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
- 7 years of program or project management experience (aerospace, defense, optics, or advanced technology preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in Functional Management, Engineering Management, or Program Management
- Experience with DoD customer
- Strong understanding of program management methodologies
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously
- Proficiency with MS Project or similar scheduling tools
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- U.S. citizenship may be required depending on project assignments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing government or defense contracts (e.g., DoD, NASA)
- Technical background in electro-optical systems, sensors, or imaging technologies
- PMP or equivalent certification
