Position Summary
The Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for conducting inspections on active and completed roofing projects, documenting findings, and ensuring work complies with company and manufacturer standards. This position also plays a critical role in the company’s training initiatives, including jobsite coaching and formal instruction through our apprenticeship program.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct site inspections of commercial roofing projects across South Florida.
Document inspection results through photo-based reporting with corrective recommendations
Verify conformance to project specifications, permits, and manufacturer standards
Mentor foremen and construction managers on proper roofing techniques
Coordinate inspections with construction managers and manufacturer representatives
Ensure jobsites maintain proper photographic documentation and daily logs
Maintain a deficiency log to identify trends and improvement areas
Assist with developing and leading monthly training sessions
Support the Apprenticeship Program through instruction and documentation
Attend and contribute to Quality Control Committee meetings
Maintain a two-week rolling inspection schedule and communicate it to management
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of commercial roofing installation or roofing QA experience
Strong hands-on knowledge of various commercial roofing systems (e.g., Modified Bitumen, Single-Ply, BUR, Standing Seam, Tile, Fluid Applied Systems)
Clean driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle safely
Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor conditions
Able to climb ladders and lift up to 75 lbs
Proficient with basic computer software for documentation and scheduling
Effective time management and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
IIBEC Registered Roof Observer (RRO) certification is a plus
Success Metrics
Minimum of two site inspections per day
Daily inspection report submissions with on-site feedback
Monthly training or demonstration sessions
Active support of apprenticeship program
Quarterly meetings with manufacturer representatives
Regular participation in Quality Control Committee meetings
Work Environment & Conditions
Must adhere to OSHA, state, and federal safety standards
Must be able to lift 100 IBS or more
May be subject to random drug and alcohol testing
