Junior Attorney – Domestications & Outside Counsel

Advanced Recovery Group (ARG) is a nationally recognized commercial collections agency specializing in Merchant Cash Advance (MCA), commercial lending, factoring, and business-to-business debt recovery. We represent financial institutions and commercial clients throughout the United States, providing strategic pre- and post-judgment recovery solutions.

We are seeking a motivated Junior Attorney to join our legal team. This position will be dedicated exclusively to managing judgment domestications and coordinating with outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed attorney or an attorney with 1–3 years of litigation experience looking to gain hands-on experience in multi-state judgment enforcement and creditors' rights.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the domestication of foreign judgments in jurisdictions throughout the United States.
  • Prepare and review all pleadings and documentation required for judgment domestications.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel from assignment through post-judgment enforcement.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all outside law firms handling assigned matters.
  • Review pleadings, motions, affidavits, and filings submitted by outside counsel.
  • Track litigation deadlines and ensure timely filings across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Maintain regular communication with outside counsel regarding case strategy, progress, and recoveries.
  • Coordinate post-judgment enforcement efforts, including:
  • Bank restraints, Executions, Wage garnishments, Levies, Asset discovery
  • Review and analyze judgments for enforceability in various jurisdictions.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and legal records within the firm's case management system.
  • Prepare management reports regarding litigation activity, domestications, and recovery efforts.
  • Conduct legal research related to interstate judgment enforcement and creditors' rights.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing commercial collections and judgment enforcement.
  • Collaborate with internal legal staff, operations, and collections personnel to maximize recoveries.
  • Perform other legal duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license and good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 0–3 years of legal experience.
  • Litigation, collections, creditors' rights, or commercial law experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial litigation.
  • Knowledge of the Uniform Enforcement of Foreign Judgments Act (UEFJA).
  • Familiarity with post-judgment enforcement procedures.
  • Experience working with outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Understanding of commercial collections or creditors' rights.
