Company Description Advanced Rapid Detox is a specialized medical practice focused on rapid opiate detoxification under sedation, offering one of the most effective approaches to drug detoxification. Since 2007, the team has helped hundreds of individuals from across the United States and Canada overcome opiate dependence on substances such as fentanyl, heroin, pain medications, kratom products, Suboxone®, and Methadone. Treatment and recovery are delivered in a residential state licensed facility, with patients recovering in private rooms and receiving long-term detox-related aftercare from their treating physician. The organization is supported by a caring team of medical professionals and addiction specialists who emphasize respect, professionalism, and safety, and it maintains an A rating from the Better Business Bureau. Advanced Rapid Detox also offers flexible financing options, including 0% interest and low-interest programs, to help patients access care.

Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Paramedic role based in Detroit, MI. The Paramedic will provide direct patient care support during rapid opiate detox procedures, including monitoring vital signs, assisting physicians and nurses during sedation and recovery, and responding promptly to changes in patient status. Daily responsibilities include preparing equipment and treatment areas, documenting clinical observations, administering approved medications under appropriate supervision, and supporting safe patient transfers and mobility on the private hospital floor. The Paramedic will collaborate closely with the medical team and addiction specialists to ensure a safe, respectful, and compassionate environment for individuals undergoing detox and recovery.

Qualifications

  • Current state Paramedic license (or eligibility for licensure in Michigan) and completion of an accredited Paramedic training program.
  • Clinical emergency care skills, including patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, basic and advanced life support, IV skills and safe medication administration within scope of practice.
  • Experience working in hospital, emergency department, or critical care settings; prior exposure to addiction medicine or detox services is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with physicians, nurses, and addiction specialists and to support patients with empathy and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and follow established protocols and safety procedures.
  • Commitment to nonjudgmental, patient-centered care and adherence to confidentiality and regulatory standards.
  • Basic computer literacy for electronic health records; current BLS and ACLS certifications required or obtained upon hire.
  • Ability to work on-site in Detroit, MI, including occasional evenings, nights, or weekends as needed.
