Duties
- Assist with landscape installation, including planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and installing hardscape features such as patios and walkways
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks like mowing lawns, trimming trees and shrubs, edging beds, and applying mulch
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment including lawn mowers, power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems with proper safety protocols
- Conduct plant identification to ensure proper care and pest management while adhering to pesticide safety standards
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers to ensure optimal watering efficiency
- Support seasonal tasks such as snow plowing during winter months or additional landscaping projects as needed
- Follow all safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment and power tools for efficient operation and troubleshooting
- Experience with landscape maintenance techniques including lawn care, pruning, planting, and hardscape installation
- Familiarity with plant identification, horticulture practices, and pesticide management for healthy landscapes
- Ability to operate grounds equipment such as mowers, trimmers, excavators, and irrigation systems safely and effectively
- Knowledge of construction experience related to outdoor projects like retaining walls or pathways is a plus
- Outdoor work experience demonstrating physical stamina and attention to detail in various weather conditions
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to equipment operation, chemical handling, and outdoor work environments
