About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. This role is unique in its balance of clinical patient care and essential administrative coordination, specifically managing the referral and authorization pipeline to ensure seamless patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
Patient Intake: Rooming patients, taking vitals, and accurately documenting HPI (History of Present Illness).
Procedures: Administering injections as directed and occasionally obtaining labs or specimens.
Provider Support: Sending in prescriptions per provider instructions and assisting with clinical corrections to maintain accurate documentation.
Follow-up: Calling labs and following up on results to ensure timely patient updates.
Referrals & Authorizations
Referral Management: Processing and tracking outgoing referrals to specialists, ensuring all necessary clinical notes and demographics are transmitted.
Prior Authorizations: Initiating and following through on prior authorizations for medications, diagnostic imaging, and procedures to prevent delays in care.
Patient Navigation: Serving as a point of contact for patients to explain the referral process and provide status updates on pending authorizations.
Teamwork & Initiative
Proactive Support: Supporting the team and helping colleagues without being asked.
Adaptability: Maintaining a high level of organization while pivoting between clinical duties and administrative tasks.
Qualifications
Certification: Current CMA certification and CPR certification required.
Experience: Proven experience managing referrals and prior authorizations is highly preferred.
Skills: Strong multitasking abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a firm grasp of medical terminology.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
