Role Description The Dental Hygienist is a part-time, on-site role based in Nutley, NJ. This role is responsible for providing preventive dental care, including dental prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, and patient education on oral hygiene practices. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing medical and dental histories, performing thorough periodontal assessments, scaling and root planing, taking and interpreting dental radiographs as needed, and assisting with treatment planning for periodontal disease and implant-related care. The Dental Hygienist will collaborate with periodontists and other dental professionals to support optimal patient outcomes, maintain accurate clinical records, and ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Dentistry and Dental Care, with the ability to support periodontal and implant-focused treatment plans.
- Proficiency in Hygiene practices and Dental Prophylaxis, including periodontal maintenance and patient education on oral health.
- Knowledge of Periodontal Disease, including assessment, non-surgical periodontal therapy, and ongoing management.
- Current state license as a Dental Hygienist in New Jersey; CPR/BLS certification required.
- Experience in periodontal or specialty practices preferred; familiarity with dental practice management and charting software is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team and support a diverse patient population.
- Strong attention to detail, adherence to infection control standards, and commitment to continuing professional education.
