Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting the daily operations of the medical office, ensuring efficient patient flow, and maintaining accurate medical records. Responsibilities
- Manage front desk operations, including greeting patients and answering multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic calendar efficiently.
- Perform insurance verification and assist with medical billing processes, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including documentation review, coding (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT), and filing of patient information.
- Assist in the preparation of care plans and coordinate with healthcare providers as necessary.
- Provide administrative and clinical support to medical staff, including clerical tasks such as typing, data entry, and managing correspondence. Direct patient care including patient medical histories, soft goods application and medicinal preparation.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with health information management protocols and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
- Proficiency in EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding (ICD coding), and documentation practices.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency.
