What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthodontic Assistant position at Advanced Orthodontics?

An Orthodontic Assistant is responsible for helping patients feel comfortable in our office and scheduling appointments. A successful candidate will have the ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment and should be compassionate towards helping others.
Responsibilities include:
- adjusting braces; removing and re-inserting a-ties and archwires
- taking photos (intra and extra oral)
- taking pan and ceph x-rays, digital scans
- Educate patients about orthodontic care, treatment plans, and oral hygiene.
- Assist the orthodontist with patient exams and procedures.
- Be able to communicate with patients.
- Be friendly and a great team player.
- Be able to follow oral instructions.
- Answer phones, greet/schedule patients and keep track of patient files.
- Insurance verification
- Fabricate clear retainers
- Marketing for the practice as needed
A typical schedule would be 7:45-5:30 for 2-3 days per week rotating one week Monday/Tuesday/Thursday and the next week Monday/Wednesday/Thursday.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 17 – 25 per week
