Job Summary
ANPC is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineering subject matter expert to develop and mentor a small team of mechanical engineers. This includes requirements development, detailed design, verification and certification of safety critical mechanical aspects of complex avionics products.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience with DO-254 compliance, FAA certification processes, and AIMS (Aircraft Information Management Systems) development, combined with strong technical leadership skills and a proven track record in managing product development initiatives from concept through delivery.
This is a full-time in-office position in Hood River, Oregon. This role is not remote eligible.
Essential Job Functions
Leveraging subject matter expertise to develop the product, but also the mechanical engineering team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle from requirements definition to certification.
Plan, organize, manage, control and report progress for a broad portfolio of mechanical design projects.
Ensure all mechanical development activities comply with DO-254 (Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware).
Drive technical decision-making for complex hardware architectures and design trade-offs.
Review and approve mechanical design documents, test plans, and certification artifacts.
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing technical teams.
Excellent communication skills with ability to present to executive leadership.
Oversee development of certification plans, test procedures, and compliance documentation
Lead hardware certification reviews and audits.
Collaborate with systems, electrical, software, and supply chain organizations.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee supplier qualification processes.
Provide regular program status updates to executive leadership.
Attend to professional career growth of team members.
Establish and continually improve engineering processes, standards, and best practices.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Extensive experience in aerospace hardware development or like discipline
3 years experience in a lead or managerial role
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
Track record of leading and developing mechanical engineering team members
DO-254, DO-160, FAA & AIMS experience required
Knowledge of RTCA standards (DO-254, DO-160, etc.).
Experience with Solidworks and PDM software
