THE ROLE:

Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for commodity planning and strategic sourcing of IT Software.  Must have prior experience with sourcing, negotiating and contracting software.  Must be a self-starter and able to identify sourcing opportunities and drive sourcing initiatives with key stakeholders with minimum involvement from management. 

THE PERSON:

You are a self-starter and adept at identifying sourcing opportunities and driving sourcing initiatives with executives—with minimum involvement from management. Outstanding negotiation and communication skills are critical to this role! You are an excellent communicator and collaborator, who can present to all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage IT Software and Information Security / Cyber Security software Services commodities as the global lead for the company.
• Develop a global procurement strategy; implementing a supplier development program that has an integrated long-term approach on cost, quality, and service.
• Responsible for the development and management of strategic supplier relationships.
• Cybersecurity Sourcing Strategy: Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans specifically for software (SaaS and on-premise), cybersecurity tools (e.g., firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM, vulnerability, threat intelligence platforms).
• Develop and make recommendations regarding sourcing strategies, requirements planning, and revenue generation using analytics.
• Manage cross-functional and cross site business processes to support operational (PO) process execution. Participate in process improvement initiatives
• Drive supplier performance management process including driving continuous improvement programs with suppliers with limited management involvement
• Lead and participate in projects which cross organizational boundaries with limited management involvement

• Work with stakeholders up to CIO level to understand and set cost targets for managed categories; Develop sourcing strategies, lead competitive bid process & analysis, price negotiation, cost reduction and business awards for the commodity with key suppliers with limited supervision.
• Manage supplier's performance to contractual requirements with limited supervision which meet AMD short- and long-term needs. Negotiate agreements and statement of work for the category. Implement contracts to minimize AMD risk and enable supplier accountability for non-performance
• Lead Supplier Performance Management (SPM) with key suppliers and manage the quarterly scorecard to review service level on cost, technology, quality, service, and flexibility.
• Develop multiyear commodity strategy which fully reflects requirements of the stakeholders. Update on a regular basis to track progress against plan with limited supervision.
• Understand industry trends through on-going market research and benchmarking with limited guidance.
• Execute all activities associated with Source-to-Pay such that orders are issued and invoiced in a timely manner with limited supervision.
• Demonstrate efficient and effective use of strategic sourcing and Procure-to-Pay processes.
• Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on most levels with some manager's advice.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Exercise judgment with limited consultation in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
• Determine methods and procedures on new assignments with limited supervision and may coordinate activities of other personnel as a team lead
• Extensive experience of strategic sourcing experience for a global corporation
• Strategic Sourcing of Software, preferably InfoSec / Cybersecurity Software – SaaS and on Premise
• Commodity Strategy Planning
• Contract Negotiation
• Source to Pay
• Market Analytics
• Experience with Ariba Sourcing and SAP S/4 preferred

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

Bachelor’s degree is required in Business or Engineering
