THE ROLE:

Would you like to be part of a world class team enabling Machine Learning applications for world class datacenters and the mightiest supercomputers? AMD is searching for talented and highly motivated Software Engineering Manager to join our team pushing the boundaries of efficiency and performance to enable and optimize the software ecosystem for the next generation of GPU computational accelerators. Our team has an unparalleled perspective of the AI landscape.  We work with the industry’s most sophisticated clients to help them leverage the latest hardware capabilities for their AI use cases.  As part of our team, you will be among the first in the world to combine the newest hardware with the industry’s latest ML applications, libraries, frameworks, and SDKs to push the limits of innovation and solve the world’s most complex challenges. 

THE PERSON:

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Software Engineering with a proven track record working in the intersection of software engineering and artificial intelligence frameworks and applications. You will work with a team of software engineers to enable AI models, libraries, and applications for Instinct GPUs in both on-prem and Cloud environments.   If you have record of delivering commercial software in and around machine learning and AI, this role is for you.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience leading the architecture, design and development of systems and application software
• Experience delivering software solutions according to product roadmaps on time and with high quality
• Ability to engage in cross functional team interactions and engagement with various key players and stakeholders in the organization.
• Experience in all the phases of software development, from requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing and final release to customers
• Experience providing clear and timely communication related to status and other key aspects of the project to leadership team.
• Experience working with customers and internal support teams for resolving customer issues
• Strong management and team leadership skills. Strong project management background
• Willingness to learn skills, tools, and methods to advance the quality, consistency, and timeliness of AMD software products
• Experience with AI frameworks, AI models and applications for said models
• Expertise with Acceleration platforms like GPU, TPU, APU, FPGAs
• Proficiency in C and C programming 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Expertise managing geographically dispersed teams.
• Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks like PyTorch, Tensor flow, JAX, etc. is preferred.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS, MS, or PhD with in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related equivalent

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
